Lisa Cunningham and George Warner
We met as classmates at Harvard Graduate School of Design where we both received our Masters in Architecture. Soon afterwords, we married and established our own practice. Placing immense value on the collaborative process between the architect and the client, we have remained intentionally small so that we can interact directly with our clients. We focus on designing comfortable and elegant spaces with an eye towards proportion, detail and light. The existing housing stock in the region has inspired us to integrate modern and bold elements into the classic proportions that define New England architecture. We are both LEED accredited and NCARB board certified professionals.
Philosophy
We believe that architecture is inherently collaborative and process driven. With this in mind, we work as a team, actively exchanging ideas in the office as well as with our clients. From townhouses to vacation homes, we design spaces that integrate modern features without losing the warmth that is historically associated with New England architecture. Since every site and client is original, we respond to the specific constraints and program of each project on an individual basis. While each of our projects is unique in appearance, our designs are characterized by spaces that are light-filled, warm, comfortable, beautiful and functional. Our own active, extended family life has helped us understand the lifestyle and needs of others, which is so important when it comes to designing homes that will anticipate our clients' needs for years to come.
